Prevent reset when reconnecting monitor

I have two computers for my development—both of them Macs.
On one of them, the device always resets when a monitor session is going on and I unplug and plug the USB back in.
On the other computer, the device will not reset. Instead, it restores the previous link and continues the log output, which is my preferred behavior.

I can't find what the different is between these two, especially because my project source and configs are shared between the two computers. Does anyone know what I need to change so that the computer does not reset when a USB cord is plugged back in?
