ESP-IDF - WROVER KIT- MT9D111 Camera Sample code needed

I am using the ESP-IDF to program the Wrover kit and I want to retrieve pictures from a MT9D111 camera (plugged into the camera port of the WROVER kit) and write them to the SD card. I have the 2000+ pages "read the docs" pdf and a 180 page camera pdf and it is very painful to work through this. Can somebody point me to sample code to jump-start my efforts?
