how to redistribute a custom component

I am using ESP-IDF V4.3 and just went through the "Build System" docs (https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... ystem.html) without finding my answer.

What I want to do is basically pack some source code into a component and then redistribute the component to others without sharing the original source code.

I have created a new project, a new component, pasted my source code in there, and compiled. That part works fine and the project correctly uses my component. The problem is that its source code is visible.

How can I now distribute that component to others without including its source code? What files do I need to distribute?
