Problem with UARTs

Postby reverser » Sat Mar 18, 2017 1:02 am

I've been trying to run the UART example exactly as it is and it does not work. I checked voltage on pins 4 and 5 and there is nothing there. I also tried moving to other pins (and set it in software) and am having the same problem. No echo, no communication with my FTDI adapter, nothing at all. UART 0 works fine, but any UART above that doesn't.

Physically, I have GND, TX, and RX connected to my FTDI adapter. I've used this for many different types of chips and this setup has always worked for me.

I've been able to successfully run the SD Card example, so I'm surprised that I can't get this simple UART example to work. Does anyone have any advice? I have tried even stripping the example down to just:

1. config params
2. set pins
3. install driver
4. write (in a loop)

and I still see nothing. Searching this forum hasn't lead to any answer so I thought I would ask.
