When calling a function such as strncmp() from Newlib, how much of Newlib is linked into an executable? Is just the function and any necessary supporting code pulled in, or is all or a large chunk pulled in also. If much extraneous unused stuff is linked in, I'll write my one functions in that category.
I could do the experiment, but it's so much easier and more timely to ask if someone knows the answer off the top.
