Unable to use I2C tools example on vscode

I tried using i2c_tools example using vscode, but it is showing as in the below image:

As it says, I have tried using the Putty, but I cant see anything on the putty serial window. Its just empty.

Note: To get data on serial monitor of Arduino IDE, I have enabled "USB CDC on boot". (I am feeling like it related to that too)
