Bluetooth Classic and 4 channel audio

Postby Zipdox » Sat Oct 26, 2024 8:33 pm

I'm looking to develop a Bluetooth speaker using the TAS6424 class-D amplifier IC. This chip takes either TDM or I2S with two SDIN pins. For compatibility, it is imperative that the device supports Bluetooth Classic.

The problem is that all ESP32 SoCs that support the TDM mode, do not support Bluetooth Classic. Or am I mistaken and is there something missing from the documentation?

If my assumption is correct, and TDM is not possible, is there a way to have two synchronized I2S output streams streams so that the SDOUT pins are in sync? Or otherwise, can two I2S peripherals share BCLK and WS pins?
