Is Bluetooth 5.4 with PAwR feasible on ESP32?

I am looking for a platform for a commercial project, we need a meshing network (Thread ) but also want to be able to use PAwR that is specified in BT5.4, I cannot find any information on Espressif as to weather this is possible, if the newer ESP32 chips can support Bluetooth 5.4

There have been hints that the additions in the 5.4 specification doesn't require any hardware but I haven't been able to verify.

Is there someone that knows if a Bluetooth 5.4 stack can run on ESP32?
