Currently I’m working on a university project and I’m considering to connect a patch antenna (https://www.l-com.com/wireless-antenna- ... -connector#) to my ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1u board with a N-male to IPEX cable (https://store.rakwireless.com/products/ ... -connector).
According to the page 44 of the user instruction (https://www.espressif.com/sites/default ... eet_en.pdf), “ESP32-S3 supports antenna diversity with an external RF switch. This switch is controlled by one or more GPIOs and used to select the best antenna to minimize the effects of channel imperfections.” But I cannot find any other resources about antenna compatibility of ESP32 boards. Is the idea of connecting ESP32 IPEX to the patch antenna doable? Will there be any compatibility problems that I need to pay attention to?

Re: Connecting ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1u to external patch antenna
No, that should work. The requirements are that the antenna works on the 2.4GHz ISM band (which yours does) and that it has 50 ohm impedance (which most all commercially available antennas do; you'd see it being mentioned if it's different).
