I am interesting on distance sensor that is able to detect distance up to 20m. I suppose some reflective surface should exist on the other side.

The idea is that we have some spot like a net and we need to calculate the distance from it, so some reflective surface can exists in the "net" and the sensor should be able to calculate the distance to this reflective surface.

The sensor will be placed on object that could move and based on some motors turning left or right should be able to detect the distance.

I can not find any sensor for this purpose , is there any category (i suppose a led distance sensor) or exact sensor that i can use for these reasons or any other better idea

Ultrasonic? IR?

Do you have any specific item? that i could use?
