I have a project which uses the SIM800L module to use the mobile network to send SMS and make a call. Since the SIM800L only supports 2g and 2g is being phased out I want to replace it with something else. I communicate from the ESP32 to the SIM800L via AT commands so the replacement would ideally use a similar set of AT commands. There appear to be a lot of 4g modules and some 3g and finding it difficult to compare one vs another.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
