apply voltage to TX pin

Hi guys!
I have a little question for you all:
what will happens if i try to program an esp32 module using an usb to uart converter if no supply is applied to the module?
My usb-to-uart convert is connected to an esp 32 only through GND-TX-RX pin.
I tried to flash a program in to my esp32 using this uart converted but i have forget to supply the module and now the module itself seems to be compromised.
Do you have any idea? thank you very much,
