Hello all,
We're prototyping a UAV (camera drone) to be controlled at close range via WiFi. There will be no separate radio control transmitter/receiver, only WiFi to/from a handheld WiFi equipped smart device. The camera functionality of the ESP-EYE is adequate for our needs. Are we also able to use the WiFi functionality of the ESP-EYE board for other than camera functions? i.e. Can we use the WiFi signal capability of the board to receive and pass through flight commands to the onboard actuators (through a flight controller board) via GPIO? Of course this can be and is already widely done with most ESC32 developer boards, I just need to know if the ESP-EYE eliminates the additional capabilities of the ESC32 chip other than those needed strictly for camera functionality. These need only be low power signals between the ESP32 board and the flight controller board, similar to those typically provided by an RC receiver in many other RC vehicles.
Thanks to anyone who can give me some insight on this.
ESP-EYE non-camera functions
Re: ESP-EYE non-camera functions
Hello, for the remaining GPIOs, they keep same capabilities as those in ESP32.
