So I'm trying to get some inputs to my ESP32 WROOM 32 for testing, and I have some 5V dip switches here and was wondering how this design bellow would faire if 5V is supplied on the dip switch and board. Would this be alright, for input testing in general, not prolonged used.
5V Dip switch
Re: 5V Dip switch
Please do not input 5 V directly to our module power and GPIO, it may damage the module, even for testing period.
Re: 5V Dip switch
If you are going to pull-up the switches to a 5v source then I think you can pull-up through a pair of resistors used as a voltage divider.
That way the input pins will not receive 5v. 3k and 2k resistors?

Re: 5V Dip switch
Hello,
If your wire the switch pull-up resistors to the 3.3V output of the ESP32 board and not 5V you should not have any problems.

Re: 5V Dip switch
Why are you running your ground connection for the board through a resistor?
