Hi all! Could you please share your experience with ESP32+LAN8720? I need ethternet connection for my ESP32, but I've found that here can be connectivity issues and might need additional efforts (although some of them are few years old):
https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32/issues/2907
https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32/issues/3831
https://sautter.com/blog/ethernet-on-es ... g-lan8720/
viewtopic.php?t=9442
viewtopic.php?t=5732
So basically I would like to know:
1) What of ESP32 modifications is preferable, 30 pins, 38 pins, or maybe ESP32-WROOM-32D?
2) Is there any actual and full guide (wiring + programming)?
Thank you!

Re: ESP32 + LAN8720 potential problems?
I would say it depends on how you designed your LAN8720 board, especially the RMII clock part. You can refer to the doc here: https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... ac-and-phy
The connection between ESP32 and LAN8720 is flexible, so I cant say "hey you have to connect them two in this way". And once you decided your LAN8720 design (especially the RMII clock part), then you need to configure the Ethernet component from menuconfig accordingly.

Thanks for reply! For now I don't have any specific requirements for connecting and I'd like to buy ESP32 with the simplest way to get work with ethernet
As far as I understood it would be better to use 38-pins model (with GPIO0) rather than 30-pins, just in case to have one more additional way for wiring.
