I'm a bit late to the party. Thanks to Espressif for the antenna design and to @Prasad for the KiCad footprint.
JLCPCB SMT service can now assemble ESP32-PICO-D4 so I am looking to replace modules with the ESP32 SiP to automate assembly of a few personal projects.
I don't have experience with antenna/RF design but saw that most designs include a matching circuit consisting of inductors/capacitors to tune the antenna as on the picture below:
Are there some rules of thumb to pick the right values when using the Espressif antenna design which will be "good enough" in most cases? Or do we have to go through the whole antenna design process and buy an expensive VNA?

These dimensions in DXF file are not matching with the ESP32 WROOM module antenna gerber.
