Hi,
I've been working with ESP32 dev boards for some time now, and have found that the board which has a white paint dot on the onboard antenna has run on my router for more than a year without losing connection, whereas all the boards which don't have the white paint dot will lose connection within days. I've tried purchasing some which have pictures of the board with the dot, but when they arrive, they don't have that same dot, so I presume they are made by a different manufacturer using an old photo.
Does anyone know if there is a current source of the boards which have the white paint spot?
Any assistance in tracking down this particular board would be appreciated.
Brian
Dev board with white dot on antenna
Re: Dev board with white dot on antenna
Its interesting, but possible there is no correlation between the white dot and performance. There could be white dots out there with poor performance. There are also blue dots and yellow dots. Are they all the same module or do you have some wroom-32-D? If you post the Mac addresses it may help identify manufacturing batches.
