Connect ESP32 with SIM7000E NB-IoT HAT

Postby JGLJGL » Mon Dec 09, 2019 9:08 am

Hello, I have the following issue to connect this two shields:
The ESP32 works at 3,3v, while SIM7000 works at 5v.
How could I connect both of them without using an external voltage regulator?

If two active devices use a different power voltage, it's more-or-less impossible to feed them off the same power source without a regulating element in between. I assume you're not just using a raw ESP32 QFN chip, but rather a devboard. Does that not have a LDO on it, so you can feed both 5V? Also, there is the issue of signalling voltage differences... but you may be in luck and the SIM7000E board may have 3.3V IO.
