Just in case anybody else ever asks the same question the MCP2562-E/P comes in THT and can work with the ESP32.
It needs 5V to run but has a VIO pin, this powers the logic IO so if you put 3.3V to this pin the IO voltage is 3.3V.

ESP32 CAN Transceiver options.
I'm adding a CAN connection to my ESP32 dev board.
I've had success using a SN65HVD230 breakout board.
I am now designing the PCB and I wanted to ask if there was a THT CAN transceiver chip that is supported by the inbuilt CAN Controller as I kinda suck at surface mount soldering.
