I received the datasheets, and the antenna types are the same as the previous generation. Btw, I'm curious as to why Espressif chose a type III IPEX connector for the mini. It makes the module unfeasible for me (and I assume others), because the connector is rare and makes the antenna too expensive ...

Agreed. I also emailed requesting the latest datasheet but haven't heard back yet. I'll respond here if I found out, but hopefully Espressif can let us know.

ESP32-S2-MINI-1(U) is now NRND, but the datasheet for ESP32-S2-MINI-2(U) has not yet been released. - Can we assume the pinout is the same for ESP32-S2-MINI-2(U) is the same as for 1(U)? Are there any substantial changes that can impact board layout? - When will the datasheet be released? Thank you.
