Re: pull down resistor's value for low deep sleep current
so if we take a door sensor and assume that most of the time the door is closed, would it make a difference if a reed relais connects the two wires when the door is closed or if it's connected when the door is opened? Is the pulse you're talking of 'only' that fragment of a second where the state ch...

pull down resistor's value for low deep sleep current
I've read that using an external pull down resistor might reduce the deep sleep current of an ESP32 compared to using the internally available resistor. As one of my ESP32's is in deep sleep almost all the time, this might make sense. But which value should I use to safe the most energy of my batter...

reducing deep sleep current of development boards
while development boards are great for, well, developments, they tend to drain batteries more than bare ESP32's. However bare ESP32's are abit tricky when it comes to soldering PCB's or simply accessing pins. Would it be possible to take the advantages of both worlds using (easy flashing and easy ac...

Re: how to 'backup' data? In fact just one item
thanks for your post. TCP sounds interesting, but at the moment also too sophisticated for me.
I'll check when I found a simple sample.

how to 'backup' data? In fact just one item
in one of my projects I'm trying to automate the irrigation for some bucket plants. I'm topping up an existing irrigation system that waters the plants once every 24h (in fact whenever the system is being connected to mains). As in high temperatures the plants need more water than when it's cloudy o...

Re: Power consumption - especially if not everything is working smooth
You probably want to have a chip that keeps the ESP in reset when the power is too low; chips like this are commonly called 'microcontroller supervisor' chips. are there any examples of supervisor chips that would make sense with ESP's whereas others don't? Would a wiring diagram, picture or simila...

operating voltage
with the various models of the ESP chips we also notice varying voltage ranges, e.g. ESP-WROOM-02: Operating voltage 2.7V ~ 3.6V ESP8266EX: Operating Voltage 2.5V ~ 3.6V ESP32-WROVER: Operating voltage/Power supply 2.3 V ~ 3.6 V (taken from the officials datasheets) At the moment I'm using LiFePO4's...

meanwhile two are flashing but only if I switch between them. Using just one of the two working and flashing this one two consecutive times doesn't do ... hmmmm

Re: Computer not detecting ESP 32
easiest question that you might already have checked: are you using the correct cable and not e.g. one designed to only charge USB devices and hence one without the internal data cables? Maybe you could try with a Linux Live Image which has support already integrated just to validate it's not MS's f...
